Lady Eva Bellambi and Mr. Roberto Viking have cooked up a scheme to coax all you Ladies and Gents, Furries and Constructs to mob up in south central Pennsylvania for an afternoon and evening of fellowship and fun in the 16th century. What is this you ask? From the Renaissance Faire advertising blurb:
“Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth, invites you to live the excitement and adventure of Her annual Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire of jousting Knights and royal delights. Thirty-five acres of mirth and merriment await as hundreds of colorfully-costumed characters breathe life into an authentic recreation of a 16th century English Village complete with dozens upon dozens of authentic Tudor buildings. Musical performances, magic acts, fire-breathing stunts, puppet shows, Shakespearean plays and comical mud beggars are just a few of the many shows, over 90 stage shows daily, unfolding on 12 stages. Enjoy period foods, micro-brewed ales and sweet wines from 23 Royal Kitchens or shop from scores of Renaissance merchants.”
This is a very highly rated event that is now in its 29th year. The URL for the general site is here (for general information, directions, and such):

The day we have picked is part of the Scottish & Irish Weekend, with 2 for 1 admission possibilities, with a validation code that can be acquired:

This event has many attractions going on simultaneously in multiple places spread over 35 acres. The current idea is to meet at 3pm just before the Highland Games competition at Bosworth Field, and then we can be together in fellowship through the rest of the evening and into the final concert, the faire closing at 8PM. The event opens at 11AM, a noon meeting point will be established for those earlier arrivals.
Many folk who attend this event appear in costume to join in the fun. If that fires your boiler, consider renaissance, steam punk, or Scottish/Irish attire: but this is entirely optional- early 21st century casual attire is certainly welcome too (though the locals might giggle at you).
We don’t need to make reservations, but it would be fun to have an idea of who to expect. If you intend to attend,
please RSVP to Roberto at roberto.viking@gmail.com or Lady Eva at evabellambi@gmail.com by September 4th, but if you are a last-minute sort of Gentle, just show up! But please, do come!
